- The "Spirit of Glen Ellyn" successfully underwent "lift" flight test with a pilot at the helm on Mar. 1, 2003, in Bolingbrook, Illinois.
- This is the first 1903 replica airplane on record to fly in this 2003 Centennial year of powered flight.
- Ken Kirincic piloted the tethered flight.
- Mr. Kirincic had complete control over the roll & pitch of the airplane with no adverse affects.
- The plane is primed and ready-to-go for powered flight this year.
