Todd J. Menna, Ph.D.
Senior Staff ConsultantDr. Todd Menna is experienced in the field of materials science and engineering focusing on testing and analysis of polymeric, metallic, and composite materials and devices. He was most recently an engineering consultant at Exponent, Inc., performing product review assistance, failure analysis investigations and consulting on a wide variety of consumer products and industrial related accidents involved in litigation, insurance and corporate matters. Dr. Menna has investigated and/or consulted in a number of projects related to plastic and metallic pipes and tubing, water filtration units, wire ropes and slings, and numerous other industrial accidents.
Dr. Menna’s past research and work experience has involved the processing and rheology of polymers, weathering phenomenon of plastic materials, electrorheology of liquid crystalline polymer solutions, mechanical properties of elastomeric compounds, lifetime prediction modeling and failure analysis of glazed polymeric window systems, and metallography.
Much of his time at the University of Michigan was spent in research as an instructor and test engineer concerning the engineering properties of materials, polymer processing and metallographic procedures. He has received several awards for his project performance and mentorship at both Exponent and the University of Michigan.
