Andrew J. Neuhalfen, Ph.D., P.E.

Senior Vice President

Dr. Neuhalfen consults on all aspects of electrical and electronic systems, performing and managing applied research, manufacturing process control and optimization, failure analysis of microelectronic components and processes, and product development programs in the telecommunications, automotive and computer industries. Included in his areas of expertise are electrical-related accident investigations, electrical shock and electrocution investigations, electrical fire investigations and analysis, product liability issues, and intellectual property evaluations.

Prior to joining Packer Engineering, Dr. Neuhalfen was Engineering Manager of the Advanced Materials Development Department at Littelfuse, Inc. where he directed the new product development resolution of technical design and manufacturing problem-solving. His cross-functional teams developed and implemented a new product family of circuit protection devices for the electronics technology industry. He also managed the Failure Analysis Laboratory for Littelfuse, Inc.

As a Development Engineer in the Communications Sector and Automotive & Industrial Electronics Group at Motorola, Dr. Neuhalfen was involved in electronics technology in their Hybrid Microelectronics Circuit Facility. In this capacity, he was involved in the placement and solder reflow attachment processes of chip components and SOIC packages, evaluated the solderability of the components, and performed failure analyses of the modules. He has extensive experience in thick film, thin film, printed circuit board, and semiconductor processing technologies.

Dr. Neuhalfen has published several technical articles and has presented at various technical symposia. He presently holds eight patents. He is an adjunct faculty member at McHenry County College, teaching Chemistry. He also serves on the Planning and Zoning Commission as Vice-Chairman for the Village of Algonquin.
