Mr. Moore consults in the areas of failure analysis, accident investigation and reconstruction, design review and evaluation, materials evaluation and application, and machinery and product testing. His areas of specific expertise include metallurgy, welding and joining, fracture analysis of metals, polymers and glass, mechanical behavior of materials, mechanical testing and metal fabrication. Mr. Moore manages projects involving a broad range of products, equipment and structures such as: vehicles, machinery, buildings, forklifts, cranes and lifting devices, railcars, aircraft, process equipment, elevators, plumbing, medical devices, power tools, guards, wire rope and metal strapping. He has testified as an expert witness in product liability and negligence cases.

Mr. Moore joined Packer Engineering in 1993 after working in the Aircraft Engines Division of General Electric for over four years. He was recruited to participate in GE's Engineering Development Program where he was involved in alloy development, coatings, failure analysis and applications engineering. Mr. Moore also worked as a Materials Applications Engineer providing expert technical advice regarding issues of materials selection, testing, manufacturing methods, inspection techniques and repair of aircraft engine components. He was actively involved in technical investigations and failure analyses that required the use of many laboratory analysis techniques, including photography, metallography, electron microscopy, non-destructive evaluation and chemical analysis.

Mr. Moore is a licensed professional engineer in the State of Illinois, as well as Iowa and South Carolina, has authored technical papers on aerospace materials, coatings and failure analysis, and has presented his work at professional society conferences. He has served as the managing agent for professional engineering at Packer Engineering, a technical paper reviewer for SAE International, a Technical Program Representative for the ASME Pressure Vessel and Piping Conference, a Session Chairman for the ASM Materials Week conference, ASM Failure Analysis Committee Chair (2005-2006) and an interim writer/reviewer for the TMS Professional Registration Committee.
