Dean P. Ott, P.E.

Senior Staff Engineer

Mr. Ott has over 17 years experience with microelectronic design, packaging, assembly and testing. His experience was gained while working for Motorola within various wireless communications equipment businesses such as cellular subscriber, cellular infrastructure, and wireless data. Mr. Ott's responsibilities as a Senior Staff Engineer at Motorola included the implementation and invention of new packaging technologies and assembly processes for radio frequency power amplifiers, the design of radio frequency transmitter circuitry for cellular phones, and product architecture representing process and supply chain interests.

Mr. Ott has a number of years experience in new product engineering as a project manager. He has introduced numerous new products into manufacturing including cellular telephones, printed circuit board assemblies and modules for communications infrastructure equipment, wireless modems, and wireline modems.

Mr. Ott has earned a number of awards for his work on cycle time reduction, customer satisfaction, and product launches. He has been trained in and has applied the principles of Six Sigma Quality, Design of Experiments, and Failure Mode Effects and Analysis. He has three patent submissions in the area of electronic assembly processes.

Mr. Ott joined Packer Engineering in June of 2002. He has been involved with failure analysis of PCB assemblies, developing test protocols, and fire investigations. Mr. Ott is currently pursuing a MSEE degree with emphasis on fiber optic communications and electromagnetism. He has also taken CE courses in Communication Theory, Digital Communications, Electromagnetic and Radio Frequency theory.

Mr. Ott is a licensed professional engineer in the State of Illinois (No. 062-058385).
