Luke Garard, CIE

Project Manager

Luke Garard has seven years of broad based experience in the environmental, occupational health and safety, and regulatory compliance arenas.  As a Certified Indoor Environmental Consultant (CIEC), Luke Garard has experience providing guidance to a wide variety of clients on Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ).  Mr. Garard has provided litigation support on several IEQ issues.

Mr. Garard is well versed in the principles and practices of industrial hygiene including the recognition, anticipation, evaluation, and control of a variety of occupational health issues. Mr. Garard’s comprehensive IEQ experience includes evaluation of fungal contamination, development of remediation protocol, and remediation management within over 800 commercial, industrial, municipal, and residential buildings throughout the United States and the Virgin Islands.  His IEQ expertise includes building envelope assessment, evaluation of HVAC performance and general building ventilation.

Mr. Garard has also assessed exposure to a variety of hazardous indoor environmental constituents including volatile chemical emissions, silica, particulates, mercury, asbestos and lead-based paint. He has broad experience in the investigation of “sick building syndrome,” baseline IAQ assessment.

He has sampled for air contaminants and physical agents according to an assortment of methods and parameters including Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), National Institute for Occupational Health and Safety (NIOSH), and the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienist (ACGIH). Mr. Garard is familiar with current federal and state regulations and guidelines, including those of the EPA, OSHA, and ACGIH.
