Matthew R. Tuttle
Staff ConsultantSince joining Packer Engineering in 2008, Mr. Tuttle has been involved in projects relating to product and process liability, risk assessment, failure analysis, and mechanical testing. In addition, he has provided assistance in a wide range of internal projects, including process realignment, development of organizational structure, and improvement of productivity as well as efficiency within the company.
Mr. Tuttle’s undergraduate studies focused on traditional industrial engineering principles and practices. His course work included an emphasis in system optimization, manufacturing processes, operations research, linear programming, and human factors. His senior design project involved redesign of a manufacturing plant to optimize process flow and decrease costs. His graduate studies included occupational biomechanics, simulation of stochastic systems, reliability engineering, and decision analysis.
Prior to joining Packer Engineering full time, Mr. Tuttle spent three years working as an intern with the company. His work consisted of failure analysis, accident investigation and reconstruction, and mechanical testing, as well as process organization. His industrial engineering background provided a basis for many projects, including the development of an internal database of individual expertise within the company, and an adjunct database used to organize associate personnel. He also held a teaching assistantship at the University of Illinois, teaching an introduction course in the area of facilities planning and design.
