Nicole Schimpf, E.I.T.

Staff Consultant

Ms. Schimpf is a staff consultant with the Mechanical Transportation Group at Packer Engineering.  Since joining Packer Engineering in 2009, Nicole has worked on projects that include industrial accident reconstruction of both mechanical and electrical nature.

Ms. Schimpf joined Packer Engineering after working as a research/teaching assistant at the University of Iowa where she was responsible for setup and execution of alkaline fuel cell experiments, electrochemical modeling of ion transport in the fuel cell electrolyte layer, and instruction of experimental and thermodynamic courses.  Her graduate course work included modeling, fluid dynamics, vibrations, and controls.

Nicole also worked as a Process Engineer for Proctor & Gamble and was responsible for programming and analysis of machine performance as well as optimization of performance through design and implementation of machine structures.  Prior to her work at Procter & Gamble, Ms. Schimpf was a Design Engineer at John Deere where she led design team meetings, analyzed warranty claims, designed structures on backhoes and skid steer, and facilitated trial fit-ups. 

Ms. Schimpf is a Registered Engineer in Training and has authored a paper on alkaline fuel cell performance under varying electrolytic conditions.  She received the University of Iowa Presidential Scholarship (2003-2007), the Tau Beta Pi Fife Fellowship (2007-2008) and the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Honorable Mention (2007-2008).
