Patrick J. Masterton, P.E.
Senior Staff EngineerMr. Masterton, a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois, has over 18 years experience with printed circuit board and microelectronic circuit assemblies, automation, production system design and control, product design for manufacturability and new product introduction. His experience was gained while working for Motorola Inc. and Andrew Corp. primarily in the area of cellular power amplifiers.
As a Senior Staff Engineer at Motorola, Mr. Masterton's responsibilities included the design and implementation of automated equipment, invention of new packaging technologies and assembly processes for power amplifiers. He has experience in the areas of contract manufacture evaluation and selection, material and component evaluation and failure analysis, process control ISO certification, and PLC programming.
Mr. Masterton has a number of years experience as a new product and manufacturing engineering section manager. He supervised the efforts of the technical operations and engineering department responsible for the evaluation, cost justification and introduction of high volume production equipment into the manufacturing process. He was also responsible for numerous new product introductions including printed circuit board and thick film hybrid modules and assemblies for cellular and public safety infrastructure equipment.
While with Motorola Inc., Mr. Masterton received a number of engineering awards for his work on various factory automation and DMF products. He has been trained in the principles of Six Sigma Quality, Design of Experiments, SPC and FMEA. In addition, Mr. Masterton has four US patents, three US patents pending and multiple patent submissions in the areas of fastener, electronic interconnect technology, thermal management and EMI shielding.
