Timothy R. Baier
Technician IIMr. Baier is actively involved in the materials lab where he performs failure analysis for both litigation and industrial projects. He documents specimens using high powered microscopes and macro photograph. He is also an operator of the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) with the ability to perform Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) for elemental analysis.
Mr. Baier offers extensive experience in the HVAC industry. He has helped design HVAC systems for many applications which range from residential homes to light commercial buildings. Mr. Baier was also involved in the installation and servicing of the equipment. He is also certified in the handling and servicing of CFC's, and HCFC's. Through his past experiences he has gained knowledge in things such as welding, machining, and documentation. He has worked with different types of instrumentation such as strain gages, transducers and data acquisition.
Mr. Baier also works with the construction department where he tests windows for leakage. These test methods include but are not limited to dam testing, spray rack testing and nozzle testing. He also documents and inspects the outside and inside condition of buildings.
Mr. Baier?s undergraduate studies include dynamics of mechanical systems, hydraulics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and PLC ladder logic. His internship included working in the field of electrostatics for Terronics Research and Development. While working at Terronics he was placed in a team whose job was to develop electrostatic machines for specific applications. This required the design, installation and service of all equipment.
